The Core Curriculum Council held its meeting on Friday, February 28, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Watauga River Room, Plemmons Student Union.  The following members were in attendance:  Dr. Rennie Brantz,  Dr. Melanie Greene, Ms. Joni Petschauer, Dr. Mary Quinn, Dr. Victor Mansure, Dr. Tim Siver, Dr. Alex Pitofsky and Dr. Alicia Aldridge.  Guest in attendance was: Dr. Dru Henson.

Dr. Brantz called the meeting to order at  2:02 p.m., welcomed those in attendance.

MOTIONS AND ACTIONS

1.  Motion was made and seconded to consider the minutes of the January 24, 2002 Core Curriculum Council meeting for approval.  The motion was approved unanimously.

2.  Consideration of the following proposals.

    a. Motion was made and seconded to consider a change the listing in the Undergraduate Catalog to reflect BIO 1101 and 1102 as two seperate courses and add alternative prerequisite to BIO 1102.  Motion was passed unanimoulsy.

3. Dr. Brantz noted FYI topics on agenda.

    a. The Director of Honors, Dr. Ozzie Ostwalt, has notified Dr. Brantz of the designator requests for the Fall 2003 General Honors courses.  Dr. Brantz will distribute the information at the March meeting.
 

Meeting adjourned at 2:15p.m.  The next meeting will be held on March 28, at 2p.m. in the Watauga River Room, Plemmons Student Union.
